Join fellow teachers and soul sisters Checka Antifonario and Halen Bower for the adventure of a lifetime in majestic Denali! Checka and Halen both lived and taught in this interior region of Alaska and cannot wait to share its singular beauty with you. Denali has a way of reminding you to be wild and free ~ to be fully you and fully alive. The mountains soar and our spirits rise to meet them!

**Important Travel Note - Most (but not all) flight schedules will require you to arrive in Anchorage or Fairbanks on August 9 and travel to Denali on August 10 via The Park Connection Bus or the famous Alaska Railroad. (Or you could opt to rent a car if you wish). Detailed suggestions for August 9 lodging and August 10 transport to Denali will be sent to you by request or after you register.

We will be staying on the Denali Education Center's 10-acre campus a few miles outside of Denali National Park. The DEC is a warm epicenter of community in the area and perfect base camp for adventure. We will practice yoga (ten classes total) in their beautiful Sheldon Center and stay in the newly renovated cabins on campus (each cabin is split into two private halves with two double beds and a bathroom in each). Three delicious meals per day are included as well. Check out this video highlighting the uplifting beauty of life in Denali as described by our friend and DEC Director Jodi Rodwell.
Your retreat will also include an expert-taught "Welcome to the Subarctic" class, two all-levels group hikes, and of course a day-long bus journey deep into the otherworldly Denali National Park. On the way we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Alaska Range and its many peaks, and - weather permitting - the great Mount Denali. Have your cameras ready to take pictures of wildlife, which may include caribou, moose, grizzly bears, Dall sheep, and more.
For additional excursions, the sky is (literally) the limit! Flight-seeing around Mount Denali, helicopter trip into the tundra, white-water rafting on the Nenana River (mild to wild options available), visiting a local Iditarod Champion kennel - and the list goes on! All of this can be arranged for you through the Denali Education Center, and your excursion provider will pick you up at the Center for your adventure.
And - save some time to just soak it all in. Feel the air. Live slow. Enjoy a local Alaskan brew. Laugh by a campfire with friends old and new. Marvel at the bright evening sun, or stay up late in case the northern lights decide to make an appearance after the late nightfall!

INCLUDED: Lodging for August 10-16. Pick-up and drop-off from your bus or train stop in Denali. Ten yoga classes. All meals beginning with dinner on August 10 and ending with breakfast on August 16. Commuter Rate for full-time or seasonal local residents (includes everything except overnight lodging): $1195

BOOKING: A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. Please email to book, and specify whether you would like single or double occupancy (include name of roommate if registering with someone). You will receive an invoice for your deposit. Balance due June 10.
